This is a traditional piece of Thai Magic that is now rarely made due to the time taken and the cost. It was produced 6 years ago by Phra Ajarn La and is what I term an amulet Tree, which is often the way they make metal amulets and then remove them from the casting. The ong Kru of an edition of metal amulets is often the full tree and this is a fabulous example.
This is a rare type of Talisman to Bhairab (or Phra Rappha in Thai) and each prong has one of his heads that has then been finely enamelled. Can you imagine the time taken to do this? It is stunning work. The tree itself has had Khom script etched around the base and there is a pea of mercury amalgam inside. It is breathtaking work.
For protection and good fortune.
It measures 6" and has no set kata but Namo Dtassa should be used and small offerings made. From old stock.
A beautiful amulet.
A Fantastic Bhairab Bucha of Enamelled Heads by Phra Ajarn La
There is still much of the original influence from India in the Thai Occult system and amulets to Ganesh, Shiva, Kali and most of the other Indian gods are produced from time to time. They carry most of the attributes in the same way as the high Buddhist pieces.
