An Ong Kru Silver Tao Waet Suwan by Phra Ajarn Manit - Protection - 2018
The quality of this casting and the enamelling is some of the best I have seen, both to the front and the rear, and it is a shame that this quality of item is no longer made.

This is a wonderful piece that has a free standing Tao Waet Suwan on the front, with highlights of mostly red enamel. Tao Waet Suwan is the demon that was raised to a deity who protects the gates of temples in Thailand, and he is called upon to bring that protection to individuals too. The Silver contains Takruts of his Wicha and the blessing from assembled monks expand the protection to include all forms of harm.

The back has Rahu's face in various colours of enamel and above him is a Kao Yaut, a 9 peaks construction to bring Buddhist magic for spiritual protection. These are astonishing pieces and I only have two.

Measures 2.2" and comes with a Buddhist kata.

Magic for an enchanted life that goes on the deity altar, and I can send the original temple box if requested to do so.

  • This is an idea from before the rise in metal prices where the Thai makers produced exquisitely cast items in silver. They showed off the quality of Thai metal work and silver accepts the blessing very well indeed.
