The Hoon Payon Prai by Ajarn Verataep - for protection 2019
Ajarn Verataep is one of the greatest Prai magicians of this generation, and his early works were groundbreaking and terrifying in equal measures. Back in around 2017 I remember a small Mae Per that was so strong it interfered with my breathing, and he has just started to bring things from his home compound to his Samnak in Bangkok.
This is another classic release from Ajarn Verataep, his Hoon Payon that uses male prai, which always works best with this ancient spell for protection. The body of the Hoon Payon is made of the thread from a funeral around a coffin nail, and it is set into an oil for Saneah that contains male bone chips. The Takrut needed for this to work well is strapped the its back like a sword
The Hoon Payon spell is a remarkable construction that produces a spirit that protects by enveloping the body, ready to take the hit for any curses sent your qay or danger it has seen coming. It is one of the most useful spells in the Thai Occult system and it works very well indeed. I only have 5.
This amulet measures 2.5" and comes with Ajarn Verataep's Samnak kata.
A classic amulet for the ghost altar.

The Hoon Payon Prai Amulet by Ajarn Verataep - Protection 2019
This is an ancient spell for protection that creates a second body that gets attacked instead of the bearer. This body can also absorb negative astrological influences, which can give a huge boost to the good fortune of the person wearing it.
Hoon Payon are made from a multitude of materials, but traditionally, the maker used agricultural materials (particularly grasses, including one called Yaa Kaa, which is used for roof laying and it is often cut from a cemetery for a Hoon Payon), soil, metal, wood or bamboo that has been made into the shape of a person and often bound with ‘Sai Sin’ ceremonial thread. This thread is used when a monk or Ajarn cordons off an area for protection while he performs a ritual, as well as the thread used during funeral rites. If more clout is needed for the talisman, the maker will use the Sai Sin from a funeral as it is considered to be Prai in nature, added to both increase the power to the item and to bind the spirit in the effigy. The hair from a corpse is also commonly added when available and this brings great potency.
