This is a traditional form of amulet from the Tai Yai people but these are Burmese and a very rare type of amulet that are used to protect against enemies or bring about their downfall if they attack in any way.

These are called Korn Mai Lom, which means that it can never fall over and will always right itself under all circumstances because the base is heavier than the top. While some make these from Yaa, these are made from a specific wood, the red hardwood that is used for old cart wheels and only the centre of that construction is saught for these pieces. These things are difficult to make and contain mercury to make it stand up that is sourced from the wild. The hole in the wood that is accessed to add the mercury is then sealed with the wood from MaKrua Baa (a form of Datura), which brings potent Saneah, after which the talisman is then gilded and blessed.

These Korn Mai Lom have Burmese Akhara that make a face on the front, but other styles are decorated like an acorn or seed pod but all versions are strongly blessed and are another example of the uses of mercury for strong talismans in this region.

This is a larger version than usually found and is an amazing piece.

For potent protection from all forms of harm, black magic, curses and Saneah.

These measure 1.95" and as is usual with these, keeping the precepts and connecting with the mind brings the best results.

I love Burmese magic.

It is rare to find ones this good and you can feel the mercury inside when he is gently shook.

Stunning Burmese Wicha Korn Mai Lom Amulets with Mercury

  • Tai Yai magic is one of the regional forms but it is very difficult to separate it from the Burmese way as they are so intertwined, but the Bees are generally Tai Yai. Remarkable things for strong protection, luck and charm.

The practices of using Mercury to aid the life in this region dates back before recorded history but looks to have originated in Burma. They are safe and are given the properties of highly spiritual makers, to the point where they reflect their inherent quality of magic. Remarkable items.

Interviews regarding the forms of mercury amalgams will follow at some point this year as we need a better understanding of this remarkable alchemy.
