The Bespoke Hoon Payon Prai Dam by Ajarn Apichai - Potent Protection

I have had a few items made from Prai Dam over the years and their effect is always spectacular. They are like a creeping force that shouldn’t be messed with and it is related to a darker form of blessing.

The Takrut to activate the Prai Dam and the Muan Sarn is in the body (see pics). The Takrut will will also carry the name and birth date of the owner to make this Hoon Payon their personal bodyguard. There is also an extra Yant plate round the torso that will carry the owner's initials. This means that the Takrut that carries you, will be surrounded by Prai, protected by silver mesh, a lead cover, and a very strong spirit.
The way for this comes from an old Wicha that used to use dry grass, which has been changed to silver wire to make it stronger. By using Prai Dam this Hoon Payon has more power than other Hoon Payon as Prai Dam is a created spirit that is equal to that of a giant, demon or ogre. I have never seen this done before but the idea seems very apt for these times.
The body is woven in silver by Ajarn Apichai himself, while he chants the kata for construction. This is a special amulet because it also holds the materials of soil from 7 graveyards, 4 corners of the city, soils from the four directions, and 7 temples. The Prai is all from male sources and includes Prai that died on a Saturday and was cremated on a Tuesday, Prai Tai Hong, Prai from a murdered man at night, and other extra weird Prai sources to make it stronger. Other ingredients include Wahn 108, Wahn Saneah Jan Hom, and the hand made powders Pong Trinisinghae, Pong Maharanap, Pong Pattaman, Pong of the 16 Buddhas, Pong Ratana Maraa, and Pong Maharat.
This mix of the sacred and the profane was blessed to have the four elements and 32 parts of the body to create a new spirit and become a Payon Prai Dam, which is noticeably stronger than other Hoon Payon. It was blessed with a series of Heart kata, the kata for 1000 giants, the three eyed giant kata, as well as kata for protection, Maha Saneah and Good luck/Good fortune. This edition of the Hoon Payon can be used for protection, and it can receive bad luck and bad fortune instead of the bearer. The consumed bad luck and bad fortune becomes food to boost their own power.
It can be used to look after the person, and their house, vehicle, business place or assets. It follows and shields the owner like a shadow around them and brings the power of authority. Those of a lower status will listen to you, and it can give warnings to the owner when danger is close via your instincts, senses or dreams. It protects against enemies or people who wish the owner harm. The Hoon Payon Prai Dam will know before this harm comes and will take action against the enemy or adversary so they lose faith in what they planned to do.
This Hoon Payon can be wished to bring good luck and good fortune, Metta, and to improve your business.
Offerings for this can be alcohol, and cooked or boiled chicken once a month, or when convenient. It will be cased in black.
This will measure around 2.5” and it comes with Ajarn’s card and a circulating kata.

A classic amulet for the ghost altar.

The Bespoke Hoon Payon Prai Dam by Ajarn Apichai - Potent Protection

  • This is an ancient spell for protection that creates a second body that gets attacked instead of the bearer. This body can also absorb negative astrological influences, which can give a huge boost to the good fortune of the person wearing it.

Hoon Payon are made from a multitude of materials, but traditionally, the maker used agricultural materials (particularly grasses, including one called Yaa Kaa, which is used for roof laying and it is often cut from a cemetery for a Hoon Payon), soil, metal, wood or bamboo that has been made into the shape of a person and often bound with ‘Sai Sin’ ceremonial thread. This thread is used when a monk or Ajarn cordons off an area for protection while he performs a ritual, as well as the thread used during funeral rites. If more clout is needed for the talisman, the maker will use the Sai Sin from a funeral as it is considered to be Prai in nature, added to both increase the power to the item and to bind the spirit in the effigy. The hair from a corpse is also commonly added when available and this brings great potency.
