I thought I should list a few real Buddhist amulets rather than you buying the unblessed rubbish online, and it is possible to get astonishing ones at an affordable price. This one is a classic from one of the great monks of the last generation, Luang Phor Up of Nakhon Pathom, who is famous for various works that include his Mae Nang Phim, a personal favourite.

Sang Ka Jai is more recognisable as the more Chinese style fat Buddha that Luang Phor Pina also loved and there are quite a few large Bucha in his temple. This is one of the classic pieces from LP Up and I bought the last of old stock, so these have never been worn and came in their original temple case. There are two forms of this beautiful piece, the black one, which is made of a crushed Takien tree and the lighter one is made of Kasorn. Both main ingredients were for great fortuen and they were then mixed with the usual Buddhist ingredients for Metta and extra items were added fo banish negative influences. These were a square of the robe from LP Ap, a small ball of Leklai and a Takrut to bring him to life. (I only have 2 of the Kasorn version btw)

This is a classic piece of Buddhist magic that is renowned for great fortune but also comes with elements that contain the essence of the old Master monk himself. It is praised like a high Buddhist amulet with the Namo Dtassa kata and it receives the classic Buddhist offerings. This requires the kata, being worn often, a fresh glass of water each day and boiled rice maybe once a week.

A Classic amulet that measures 2.1" and comes with the original temple case and the Namo Dtassa kata.

I adore this type of work for its simple efficiency.

The Classic Sang Ka Jai Amulet by Luang Phor Up in silver 2009

  • Pure Buddhist amulets (without Prai materials) are known as Puttakhun magic and they work in a gentler way but still offer sustained magical force.
