Phor Sala Tan is a legendary magician from this region of Northern Thailand who trained some of the best of the current top Ajarns pof the region, including Ajarn Ting.
These bones come from Ajarn Ting. He studied prai magic with Phor Sala Tan and picked these bones from the funeral pyre himself to keep as a connection to his old Master. Currently, Ajarn Ting is studying the classic Burmese magic of Yaa Daeng and one of the rules of study is that there is no Prai in the Samnak. He has kept a tiny piece and it is enough as Phor Sala Tan is incredibly present in these pieces. When I went to view what he had I had a figure in mind to pay but there was way more than I thought, so I doubled what I was going to pay, a fee that Ajarn donated to a temple he is close to, and when I pass a piece on, I make merit too.
Driving home with these in the car was quite an experience because he was there too. I almost offered him the chance to drive but thought better of it. The larger bone pieces were passed on in a traditional relic case of perspex and while that is the best way, most people need these with a bit of control because he is a trickster. These smaller pieces come on a Takrut for some control and directed power and being cremated bone, yes, some may get a bit crumbly but it is not the look of this that's important, it is the connection to the greatest Prai magician of our age.

The Remains of Phor Sala Tan - a relic from a top magician
Phor Sala Tan is a legend in these parts for both his antics as a wily old magician, the amount of wives he had and his magic. He worked well into his 80's and his influence is still strong on this area through his exceptionally talented Luksit, Phra Ajarn Tay.
The old Master Sorcerer called Phor Sala Tan was responsible for the training of many of the new generations of Ajarns who specialised in magic from the Lanna traditions (Lanna is the name of the old Northern Kingdom). He was renowned for working with five spirits in his practices, all of which were Phi Tai Tang Glom and they are of such force that he was known for cross-dressing when performing rituals to confuse these ghosts to avoid them harming him. Phor Sala Tan was a spritely and accomplished practitioner, still following this method up to his passing away recently at 92 years of age. He reputedly had many wives and lovers, even up to his death.
