The Takrut Prai Taa Taek by Ajarn Apichai
This silver Takrut has a core of supernatural materials that is a combination of thousands of Pong Prai from 108 graveyards. This includes powders from Thai Hong bodies and people that died on a Saturday and were cremated on a Tuesday. These were mixed with the soils from 7 graveyards, Waan 108, blessed Sompoi powder, a powder to undo curses, Pong Maha Rangab, and Pong Pattaman, which together provide a firm base for the magic at the heart of this hand written silver Takrut.
It was made through following an old Wicha book to have the power for protection against evil spirits, and unholy forces, or places that are haunted by malicious entities. According to the Wicha, if the evil spirit wishes to harm you, when it sees you their eyes will burst into flames and explode, hence the name Prai Taa Taek - ‘Prai with the exploded eyes’. The Takrut will not affect the spirits close to you, only the ones with malicious intent. It will leave the house spirits, ancestral spirits, Guardian spirits and all the Prai amulets you own alone due to their different intent. This magic is allied to the Takrut Namo Ta Baut, which let ghosts see you as a ghost so they would not harm you and leave you alone. The depth of the Thai system never ceases to amaze me because of the closeness of these two forms of magic, and both survived through the ages.
