A 9 Gold Takrut Maha Mongkol Phra Pidtaa by Luang Phor Koon 1999 - Money & Protection

This is a very special Phra Pidtaa amulet that was made 27 years years ago by Luang Phor Khun that contains 9 gold takruts. It is called the Nawa Maha Mongkol and it is perhaps the most special of all his releases. He was so famous that even the old King Bhumibol used to see him if he was in the area, and the local people adored him. He was famous for donating the millions that the temple had to the country during the economic crisis in 1997.

These amulets were created to celebrate his 72nd (6th cycle) birthday anniversary, a significant milestone in Thai culture. It was officially blessed and released on October 4, 1999 to coincide with this highly revered monk’s 6th cycle celebrations.
This version features 9 Gold Takruts (sacred scrolls) and this powder-based amulet often contains Luang Phor Koon's hair (Kesa) and gold dust mixed into the sacred powder. The hair of a revered monk has a valued potency. Kesa is from the highest point of his spiritual body, and in Thai magic it is the first of the 32 parts of the body. To find this now, new in the box is quite remarkable, and the ones I have came from an old amulet shop that we recently emptied.
The amulet depicts the Closed-Eyes Buddha (Pidtaa), which symbolises the blocking of worldly distractions to achieve inner peace and focus. It is one of the classic designs in Thai Buddhism and the Wicha for them is huge, with many wild Prai examples also being made. Practitioners believe that this batch brings extreme wealth (Maha Lap), business prosperity, and protection from harm (Klaew Klaad).

The thing that makes this truly special is the blessing of Luang Phor Khun, one of the greatest of the great generation of Thai monks. I love his most famous image where he is squatting down smoking a roll up.

This measures 2.25" and needs a 108 Buddhist kata.

It goes on the deity altar.

Exceptional magic from a great Thai monk.

  • The Phra Pidtaa is a type of Buddhist amulet in form but it can also come with Prai. I have had so many varieties of these that they are hard to fathom but some of them were exceptionally strong magic. This is no exception.
