The Bespoke Male Si Salang Ngaeng Prai Amulet by Ajarn Apichai - Protection & Money
   This is truly ancient, fascinating magic from the hands of this young Master of Occultism who was tapping Nam Man Prai at the age of 11. The female version of this is listed separately.
   Si Salang Ngaeng appears in several legends and beliefs, including Khmer, Lanna, Lao, Tai Yai, and Thai. Some legends hold that it was once a great spirit that served Lord Shiva on Mount Kailash, later becoming a servant of Phraya Yommarat (King of the Dead). It is believed to act as a guardian with immense magical power and the ability to foresee future events. For these creations, Ajarn Apichai combined two distinct disciplines: the Lanna Rang Ngang text and the Khmer-Lao text.
   Si Salang Ngaeng is a magical discipline similar to a Hoon Payon (animated protective effigy). Its creation requires a specific ritual that involves establishing the core elements, invoking the 32 physical attributes, and calling forth the spirit of Si Salang Ngaeng into physical existence. This is neither a ghost nor a deity, but rather a powerful entity akin to something like an elf. Spirits or ghost-derived components (Prai) are often incorporated into the sacred material mix to amplify its spiritual energy, giving it greater force and presence.
   According to tradition, the entity is typically offered white liquor. Devotees often drill a small hole in its casing (or use a hot pin as more precise) to drop white liquor directly onto the image. Alternatively, a small glass of white liquor can be placed before it. If offering white liquor in a glass, light 1 incense stick. If applying white liquor directly onto the image, no incense is needed.
Powers & Benefits 
   Si Salang Ngaeng functions primarily as an effigy that forewarns of upcoming good or bad events, alerts the owner to danger, and offers strong protection. It can influence people’s thoughts to evoke love, longing, and goodwill. It also brings good fortune, windfalls, success in business negotiations, trade, social encounters, and romantic pursuits depending on whether male or female. It can assist with almost any intention without strict conditions; devotees may make vows, fulfilling them with white liquor upon success.
The two forms—Male and Female—symbolise a married pair or gender duality. While their general powers are similar, their specific strengths differ:
Male Si Salang Ngaeng: Focuses on authority, pioneering strength, and protection against external danger. It acts as a primary guardian. This form suits managers, leaders, or those negotiating high-stakes deals requiring decisiveness, as well as those seeking new business opportunities or fortune while travelling.
Female Si Salang Ngaeng: Resembles Mae Per in form (though distinct from it) and focuses on charm, attraction, and wealth preservation. It emphasises deep attraction, making people treat the bearer with affection, kindness, and passion. It excels at retaining wealth, guarding assets, and fostering harmony within households or workplaces to reduce conflict.
   Traditional texts recommend crafting them as a pair (much like Yin and Yang) to maintain magical balance.
*Worshipping both together provides optimal results, though men may choose to worship the male form and women the female form. With same sex genders, men who are attracted to men can use the female gender, and women attracted to women can use the male.*
Sacred Ingredients
Key components include soil from 7 cemeteries, soil from 7 temples, various spirit powders (Phrai), charm herb powders, flower powders, and sacred slate powders from the writing of magic—primarily the Ittije, Maharat, and Pathamang varieties.
For those who choose to worship them as a pair, the texts mention a specific technique: keep the female deity at home to guard and protect your assets and wealth, while carrying the male deity with you—representing going out to work, earn money, and bring in good fortune.
