The Ong Kru Kru Kai Kaew locket by Ajarn Perm Rung - Good Luck/Good Fortune
There was a craze for Kru Kai Kaew a few years back, mainly due to a huge statue that was erected in Bangkok showing Kru Kai Kaew in his fully fanged glory! It became popular and people started doing weird shit, like offering blood to it, so it was removed.
Kru Kai Kaew is actually a Lersi who brings the benefits of good luck and good fortune rather than a demonic entity. His origins are murky, but the first pieces dedicated to him were by a Thai monk, and he gave one to a famous Thai folk singer, and the fame spread from there. Some see him as a teacher of witchcraft, and some as a new cult, but whatever is the truth it is good to see that the Thais still have magic in their hearts.
The image on the locket is magnificent, and the back contains a collection of herbs for great fortune and the bringing of gold and silver. Into this was pressed a Tiger skin takrut for authority, a snake skin Takrut for good fortune and business, and a metal Takrut in a case for great fortune. The phial in the back contains a herbal oil and the overall effect sought by this magic is to bring good fortune and raise the bearer to a better position in life. The Takrut on its own is to repel negative forces and anything meant to bring you harm, which is alwats welcome.
This amulet measures 3.4" and comes with the kata and card of Ajarn Perm Rung.
