A sacred object from the Wicha Pichai Songkhram (Great War Victory) tradition of the Wat Pradoo Songtham school.
   Wat Pradoo Songtham in Ayutthaya province is considered a great center of magical knowledge in the central region, much like the Khao Or school in Phatthalung province is for the south. Since ancient times, from the Ayutthaya Kingdom onwards, Wat Pradoo Songtham has been a place where the texts and treatises of the Wicha Pichai Songkhram were compiled. These texts cover the arts of troop movement, encampment, military strategy, and incantations for invulnerability and invincibility. Therefore, in later eras, many master monks who wished to create sacred objects like takruts and pha yant had to study at Wat Pradoo Songtham.
   One of the supreme sacred objects from this tradition is the Luk Maha Loi. This sacred object has a method of creation that requires the master to inscribe war magic texts onto lead and copper sheets, which are then rolled together. The pea inside is a mercury amalgam to keep away bad energy and help the bearer be still by not allowing the pea to move. This  collection of materials is then coated with the sacred powder of the four elements (Phra Phutthakhun That 4), bound with consecrated cords, lacquered, covered in gold leaf and scripted.
   The ritual for making the Luk Maha Loi requires the creator to establish the elements, support the elements, and channel the four elements with great fluency. During the channeling of the elements, one must be skilled in establishing various corresponding mental states. When channeling the earth element, the mind focuses on invulnerability. When channeling the water element, the mind focuses on impenetrability. When channeling the wind element, the mind shifts to a state of loving-kindness (metta). And when channeling the fire element, the mind enters a state of authority. The creator must also be able to transform these four elements and their various properties, and the consecration of a Luk Maha Loi needs to be highly skilled in elemental kasina (meditation on the elements).
   It is said that whoever possesses this Luk Maha Loi will not drown in water nor be burned by fire. Wherever they go, they will receive kindness and compassion, have consistent good fortune, will not be disliked when applying for work, and be a distinguished member of any society they join. Thes Luk Maha Loi can absorb misfortune on behalf of its owner and repel bad entities.
